Although it is convenient to stick with every detail because it is easy one should realize that Islam is the religion of logic more important than any thing else. One should examine using his brain what fits with our time and what does not. Koran mentions that the Jews carry there books but can not use it properly because may be they became close minded. Muslims should not be like them and make the same mistake and become close minded. Muslims should keep what is good and valid in sharia, modify what needs to be modified and do not implement what does not fit with our times like cutting hands of the thieves.

It is very dangerous to read the Koran with narrow mind. In Islam you have to use your brain. You do not be lazy and use the word by word interpretation of words commands. You have to use your mind and this is how one can boast about Islam. Reasoning should prevail. There are boundaries and red line where you can go. As an example one can not take away the obligation of prayers as an example. However, look at homosexuality as some Muslims claim they are born with it and can not over come it if this is the case they should not be condemned. Femism has lead to the enslavement of women as is now obvious from the excessive amount of porn available in the world, Islaam has true women rights and responsibilities, so its not that Islaam is wrong on this issue, but its that the West is wrong in its understanding of women, right and responsibilities. Also another interpretation of this narration is that, women are weaker by their nature (as a general rule), therefore this narration is not as much a criticism of women than it is men.
